Position Summary
The IT QA Automation Engineer is primarily responsible, under intermittent supervision, for creating automated
scripts to test all aspects of company software solutions including user interfaces, APIs, and DB values. The role
collaborates with all team members as needed to understand the impact of requested enhancements and add or
modify existing automation scripts to fully verify the changes work as expected without unintended side effects.
Essential Functions
Ability to work closely with other agile team members in the development of automated test suites, execute and identify potential quality risks
Analyze and decompose a complicated software system and design a test strategy to perform functional testing
Collaborate with team members to identify root cause and help determine potential solutions
Enable and ensure that team meets and exceeds expectations for all deliverable life cycles
Proactively inspect and adapt Engineering’s quality processes and tools
Assist and track on behalf of the system test team as needed for cross product end to end system testing
Work with team members to adopt test-driven development techniques and ensure that the quality is built into the code
Communicate with other agile teams as part of a shared responsibility for total product quality
Collaborate with team members to effectively analyze and isolate complex system level problems that extend past the reach of the product under test
Integrate test suites into the test management system and test harness
Identify and bring team focus to potential quality issues and work with the team to mitigate technical debt
Use metrics to measure where the team is versus where they should be in terms of quality
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, computer-related degree, or similar technical training, along with a minimum of two years of experience in Automation Engineering role(s)
Framework and Selenium WebDriver experience
Demonstrated expertise in Robot Framework for automated test development
Solid understanding of automating front-end, mobile and APIs
Experience with test automation frameworks, quality reporting tools, and CI/CD environments for enterprise software delivery
Skillset in Python script development is required
Experience with API driven automation using Postman/ Newman
Experience in automating desktop-based applications is a plus
Experience writing software designs / specifications and quality test strategy and test plans
Solid understanding of, and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:
Agile tools including Confluence and JIRA
Office 365, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Continuous integration tools like Jenkins
Familiarity with security and cloud technologies preferred
Ability to solve technical problems and think abstractly

Solid understanding of working in an agile software organization as a software developer, QA member, or SDET.
A team player, able to work with all levels of Engineering roles, including individual contributors, architects, managers, product owners and scrum masters
Has the ability to identify and bring team focus to potential quality issues and works with the team to mitigate technical debt
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands while maintaining a keen attention to detail

Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
