Summary



The Enterprise Cloud Architect is responsible for identification and selection of appropriate cloud services based on requirements and constraints, has deep subject matter expertise, and can evaluate new technologies for fit in current application, data & infrastructure architecture.



Responsibilities




  • Provides overall direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture runway to effectively support the business & IT strategy.
  • Provides architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to solution / systems analysts, software engineers, and solution architects.
  • Designs & develops in-depth knowledge of company's existing IT cloud architecture/infrastructure, and application portfolio.
  • Reviews existing business processes and establishes metrics to improve business processes, as well as support of all architectural disciplines under their direction.
  • Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple specialized architecture domains including the design and development of end-to-end IT cloud integrated systems.
  • Ensures the conceptual completeness of the technical solutions.
  • Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, and technology priorities.
  • Directs the research and evaluation of emerging technology innovation, industry, and market trends.
  • Defines the skills, competencies in the skills, and talents for architecture team members, solution & system architects
  • Responsible for leading the Architecture community of practice & coaching solution architects.



Requirements




  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant IT experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience
  • 10+ years of IT solution development work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning and operations.
  • Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of multiple, diverse technologies / processing environments, end-user computing and collaborative technologies.
  • Excellent understanding of typical multi-tier architectures: web servers, caching, application servers, load balancers, and storage.
  • Agile Certification(s)



Preferences




  • Familiarity with loose coupling and stateless systems.
  • Understanding of different consistency models in distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of Content Delivery Networks (CDN).
  • Knowledge of RESTful Web Services, XML, JSON.
  • Knowledge of System performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with information and application security concepts including public key encryption, remote access, access credentials, and certificate-based authentication.
