The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing, analyzing, and validating cost expenditures and reductions initiatives within the Plant. Review manufacturing process activities; record and validate data; make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze manufacturing activities and document/validate changes in process to determine what effect it has on the cost
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect product profitability
Work with CI/process teams to drive continuous improvement
Analyze and recommend cost and cost savings
Monitor the inventory cycle count adjustments
Prepare and complete internal cost audits according to GAAP
Maintain accuracy in the (SAP/ERP) system
Performance Measures
Cost savings from improvement initiatives
Speed and accuracy of plant profitability drivers
Accuracy in cycle count adjustments
Plant performance leading indicators
Accuracy in program profitability (Burden model)
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience; CPA or MBA preferred
2+ years of cost accounting work experience (essential)
Knowledge of SAP
Knowledgeable on statistics

Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite
