Lonza Pharma & Biotech has an opening for an experienced Senior Manager, Engineering Projects at their Bend, Oregon location. As a Senior Manager, Engineering Projects you will be responsible for managing and coordinating projects of varying complexity for the engineering department from concept through Commissioning and Qualification. A successful candidate will possess a collaborative mindset; working with other colleagues on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Open communication, a team-oriented mindset, and a desire to learn are key attributes.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage and coordinate projects of varying complexity for the engineering department from concept through Commissioning and Qualification


• Directly responsible and accountable for delivering projects: meeting the expectations of shareholder and business requirements (scope), on time, and within budget


• Coordinate the development of engineering and cGMP documentation, procurement, engineering services, construction, Commissioning and Qualification, and turn over/return to operation


• Manage construction projects from renovations to construction of new ground-up facilities


• Manage cross-functional teams of engineering, operations, consultants, contractors, general contractors, and architects


• Ensure parity between facilities including equipment requirements, and procedures


• Responsible for managing internal resources as well as subcontractors and consultants who are executing project tasks

Key requirements:

• B.S. Engineering or other engineering/technical background


• 5+ years of work experience managing capital projects up to US$50,000,000


• Significant experience with capital project methodology and principles


• Experience leading cross functional teams to successful completion of capital projects


• Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing and process equipment is preferred
