Job Description
Position Overview
As an Analyst, Offshore Development, you will participate in the development of offshore wind projects in the United States, with a focus on supporting the team working on transmission and interconnection part of the offshore wind project off the coast of NY and NJ. This position will be based in New York City or Ithaca, NY or nearby areas.
Responsibilities
Support the team in preparation of applications to obtain local, state and/or federal permits.
Engage with agencies to coordinate pre-application meetings, prepare materials for further engagement, gather and compile publicly available data to inform transmission line siting.
Coordinate activities with 3rd Party Consultants on engineering, environmental, wildlife, and geophysical, geotechnical analysis and other studies for the transmission line.
Coordinate on relevant items between Offshore Development and Transmission Development team.
Assist with securing site control to support future transmission infrastructure, including negotiating leases, crossing agreements, easements and other agreements with landowners and other authorities.
Conduct site assessments for transmission line corridors and land parcels, fatal flaw analysis and other due diligence.
Attend community meetings and represent Invenergy with customers, landowners, state and local officials, and other stakeholders.
Initiate and manage generation interconnection activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 1 - 3 years of professional experience.
Familiarity with renewable project development, real estate development, transmission OR power project engineering with a desire to learn more.
Demonstrated agility and flexibility as business needs and priorities shift.
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve problems.
A desire to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Travel as needed, anticipated 10-30% of the time.
Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in similar role in offshore wind, renewable energy, power/utilities or related industry.
