Job Description:

Full-time, 40 hours/week, 4:00 pm – 12:30 am, Sunday through Thursday. Previous Floor Care experience preferred. Adequate reading and writing skills and the ability to comprehend oral instructions; MUST be detail oriented; capable of learning the required methods of cleaning used at Kendal; able to work alone or with others; able to work productively without close supervision. Flexible Availability as needed by department and able to work weekends and holidays. Ability to have outstanding customer service skills with residents and family. Physical requirements: Safely lifts and moves items up to 100 pounds with or without assistance. Frequently twists, stoops, bends, squats; frequently lifts and carries equipment and supplies weighing 100 pounds; kneels; climbs stairs; frequently reaches above, at or below shoulder height. 100% of the day is spent standing walking.  Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the ability to demonstrate and produce high quality floor refinishing and cleaning with square foot completion for each shift by maintaining upholstered furnishing, soft, hard and carpet floors in a clean and orderly condition. Must be familiar with all types of cleaning agents and their application. Cleans assigned areas by carrying out basic operations of sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, burnishing, and extracting. Ability to utilize and maintain a variety of heavy equipment including pressure washers, buffers, extractors, vacuums, stripping machines, janitor mops and water buckets. Gathers and disposes of trash, recycling, pressure washes waste baskets and large refuse containers. Maintain building interior by performing tasks in assigned area operating carpet cleaning and floor scrubbing machines; dusting, vacuuming carpets, cleaning spots from walls and carpets, mopping floors, cleaning windows, bathrooms, tile and fixtures, ceilings, vents, refilling soaps, paper towels, toilet paper and cup dispensers, etc. Removal of soiled linens and hazardous waste.  Performs other duties as assigned.
