Key Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience in big-data field: Hadoop (HDFS, YARN or Mesos), Spark Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience of SQL in context of Big Data: Spark SQL, Hive QL Excellent knowledge of Spark Excellent knowledge of batch processing and ETL principles in Data Warehouses Good knowledge of Scala or Java Ability to learn fast new set of tools and technology used internally within Apple Description This is a software engineering position. We write robust code, not just ad-hoc scripts. Our software process dozens terabytes of data on daily basis. Our volumes are on petabytes scale. Our jobs and applications must be efficient, scalable and stable. Although we write software, data is our main product and first class citizen. We care about correct and qualitative data as much as we care about fine, clean and manageable code. We are data curators, data governors.
