Work Schedule:

90% FTE, Day/Evening shift with every other weekend and holiday rotation.  Hours may vary depending on department need.  You will work at the University Hospital location in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse:


  • Join our 28-bed General Surgery unit offering the opportunity to gain a broad base of skills and clinical knowledge.

  • The patient population is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal organs, including stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts, and diseases involving the breast.

  • Nurses are highly competent to care for a variety of high acuity patients, while maintaining a focus of compassionate patient and family centered care.

  • Emphasis is placed on professional development through continuing education for nursing staff, professional certifications, development of unit resource nurses, mentoring staff and students, while maintaining a high standard of care for all patients and their families.

Education:

Preferred - Baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Work Experience:

Minimum - Six (6) months of RN experience.

Preferred – One (1) year recent acute medical or surgical experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin, CPR certification.
