Senior Credit Officer – Commercial Real Estate:

The Senior Credit Officer is responsible for overseeing the credit functions of the Bank’s Commercial Real Estate credit operations team.  

This position sets the vision and strategic direction for the Commercial Real Estate department and manages the team of underwriters and credit officers.

What You Will Be Doing:


  • Review of business loan applications and executes the highest level of loan authority. 

  • Ensures the quality of an assigned portfolio and asset quality trends.

  • Accountable for asset quality metrics of the loan portfolio.

  • Participates in deal discussions both formally and informally to ensure early and ongoing dialog to resolve issues and to keep the process moving efficiently, providing timely support to Lenders.

  • Supervises and leads criticized asset and portfolio review meetings

  • Primary contact for audit, regulatory, and compliance for credit processes

  • Reviews and assist the line with the development of term sheets or deal memos. Maintains local market knowledge and industry awareness. Communicates knowledge to others.

  • Reviews and endorses recommendations from Market leadership for limits and adjustments to line officer authorities as appropriate. Participates in board meetings and presentations to bank senior management teams

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree with a business, finance, economics or accounting major (preferred)

  • Formal Bank credit training is preferred, with a strong understanding of general credit and risk principles, mitigates, and banking policies/procedures

  • MBA or CFA is desired, but not required.

  • 15 + years Commercial Real Estate Credit Middle Market Experience.


  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to manage tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Strong interpersonal skills used within a team environment and in client interaction with emphasis on relationship building

  • Ability to proactively manage and prioritize work flow.
