Job Summary
The Plant Supervisor is responsible for helping manage the overall plant operations for the Permian Basin Power Plant to ensure the safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant production of electrical energy. This position is also responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and direction of power plant multi-skilled employees. Responsibilities include prioritizing and scheduling workforce, plant equipment, and materials in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. The position may require some travel in the support of other Luminant Power Generation Stations and training.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the generation station
Accountability can include supervising and directing multi-skill production and maintenance support personnel to achieve maximum reliable and safe operation of the generating units
Performs plant inspections to identify and correct problems affecting the performance of plant personnel, policies and procedures, housekeeping, material conditions, and hazards to personnel; to ensure that deficiencies are identified, and corrective action is initiated.
Ensure and monitor safety and environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, administrative and procedural compliance, and documentation
Assist in the coordination and implementation of special projects
The supervisor will be asked to respond to emergency call-out situations and assist in troubleshooting system problems
Interface frequently with outside vendors and contractors
Planning and Scheduling for the plant site
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
3-5 years of power plant or similar experience
Experience with operations and maintenance
The candidate must have the ability to plan work, create purchase requests, and issue work orders
The candidate should understand task planning and have the ability to prioritize work schedules
Preferred Experience:
Leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Good communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of management
Technical background or Instrumentation and Control background is a plus
Good computer skills using Word, Excel, and Outlook
Power generation experience is a plus
