Assistant Product Developer - Dining at Arhaus in Boston Heights, Ohio

Job Description:

Arhaus is looking for an Associate Product Developer to join the Wood Product Development Team. The Associate Product Developer reports to the Product Developer and is tasked with driving, along with the PD, all components of the product development process for assigned categories.  The Associate will work in concert with senior management, store operations, and merchandisers to build seasonal introductions of the Arhaus product assortment.  This individual will need to be highly motivated, proactive, and have the ability to pivot seamlessly in a highly dynamic and fast-moving business. The desired candidates will have 2-4 years of comparable experience in design, merchandising, and/or product development and exhibit brand-appropriate taste and the ability to understand and respond to the Arhaus customer needs. This individual will take initiative and provide a solution-based approach to challenges both cross-functionally and with external entities.  The Associate will be involved in identifying needs in the assortment, reacting to market trends and competitor landscape, and creating new products for the assortment that will support the brand, drive store traffic, and meet or exceed assigned goals for category sales and profitability. This position demands high energy and a willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work closely with Product Developer and Vice President of Product Development in establishing seasonal direction on new products for the Arhaus assortment.


2. Develop and provide holistic category products seasonally by aligning with merchandising and planning teams to achieve company and category strategic goals.


3. Identify opportunities to expand the assortment or to increase sales penetration for segments of the assortment.


4. Work closely with the Buying Department in regard to product distribution to stores.


5. Work with the web team to ensure that product is launched in a timely manner and is well represented on the Arhaus website.


6. Assist in the building and maintenance of vendor relationships to accomplish goals.


7. Responsible for specifying product packaging with Sourcing & QC Teams and ensuring compliance of product and packaging when initial sample shipment and stock orders.


8. Work closely with Sourcing and QC teams to resolve any quality concerns with new and existing products.


9. Responsible for proofing product information for store and company use including collecting all product information from vendors for cross-functional purposes. This includes inputting purchase orders for samples, marketing docs and inputting SKU information into the Product Information database.


10. Responsible for product specification sheets and product information sheets.


11. Manage the assortment plan seasonally from start to finish for each season.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Four-year college degree in design, merchandising, or related field.


2. 2-4 Years of Design/Product Development /Merchandising experience in a retail setting.


3. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Outlook. CAD is a plus.


4. Foreign language a plus.


5. Able and willing to travel.
