Job Summary

This position is responsible to maintain, install, move and repair specialized equipment including heating and air conditioning, ventilators, ice machines and production chillers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, move, troubleshoot and repair all related HVAC equipment.


• Maintains inventory of filters and refrigerant.


• Responds to heating and cooling problems (repair as necessary).


• Inform supervisor when repairs need to be made by outside vendor or when equipment needs to be replaced.


• Perform related duties or projects as assigned.


• Perform routine inspections and maintenance.


• Operates all hand tools, HVAC equipment, electrical tools and electrical measuring instruments.

Expected Areas of Competence

• Must be able to operate, troubleshoot and repair the Trane and Johnson energy management systems and the clean room monitoring systems.


• Advanced knowledge of HVAC equipment.


• Intermediate knowledge of general maintenance procedures, including electrical.


• Basic knowledge of proper procurement procedures.


• Must have demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Code.


• Must be capable of analyzing machine problems, disassemble machines and repair as necessary.


• Must be able to lift 60 pounds or more, work in difficult position, at various heights.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


• Must have 5 years of work experience in commercial, electrical, and HVAC work, or equivalent combination of education of experience.


• Must have successfully completed formal training programs on HVAC Operations, Boiler and Refrigerant certificates will be required.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 5%
