Compiles and copy catalogs bibliographic records in accordance with library local and national standards; prepares library materials for use, and performs needed repairs.
Catalogs and classifies new library materials by identifying and editing matching bibliographic records.
Analyzes, modifies, and augments bibliographic data as needed to represent the work and enhance discovery for users.
Creates or modifies appropriate Library of Congress classification and subject headings according to library procedures.
Maintains the accuracy and integrity of the catalog databases to resolve discrepancies.
Prepares materials for use, including applying protective coverings and labeling on books and audiovisual materials.
Assesses materials for physical damage; performs needed repairs, relabeling, and bibliographic updates.
Maintains statistics for annual reports to facilitate assessment of library collections for university, state, and national reporting requirements.
Performs catalog maintenance projects, as assigned.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of library procedures and ability to catalog and classify library materials

Sufficient math skills to process routine accounting forms and maintain bookkeeping records

Ability to proofread and edit correspondence and reports

After initial training period, ability to work with minimal supervision
PC Skills:
Minimum (1) year word processing experience
Minimum (2) years experience with an automated library system
Minimum (1) year spreadsheet and/or database experience
