Provide technical and administrative supervision to general accounting, member and hauler payments, billing, and accounts payable. Oversee all activity from farm pick-up to customer sale. Provide analytical support regarding the financial statements and general ledger activity for management and regulatory agencies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize and coordinate all activities of general accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, member and hauler payroll, to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of all financial results for the Council.
Manage, or support in the hiring, termination, training, performance reviews, and compensation of accounting personnel within the Area in accordance with company policy and procedures and in coordination with senior Area management.
Coordinate all activity related to the monthly closing cycles for member farm pick-up of milk.
Assist with financial information needed to for our ability to forecast our monthly "ability to pay" margin.
Coordinate and assist in the preparation of balance sheet accounts and financial statements.
Assist in the preparation of the budgetary process for the Council.
Receive and resolve inquiries from customers, employees, member-owners and vendors regarding information applicable to their scope of inquiry.
Receive and resolve inquiries from internal and external auditor personnel concerning financial inquiries applicable to the Council.
Prepares invoices for customers, including the calculation of specific adjustments to the basic marketing price announcement and the appropriate Federal Order Classification of pounds and pricing. Maintains related support schedules
Oversee purchase and billing of area lab supplies used by members, haulers, and customers
Provide financial analytical expertise as assigned by appropriate management.
Support the overall goals of the Council by performing duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree. Accounting / Finance is preferred.
Five+ years of relevant management and accounting experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient working knowledge of Excel, data base systems and general accounting principles
A self-starter with initiative to enhance job functions and solve problems
Proven ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy while maintaining a high volume of output
Ability to teach, supervise, develop and inspire subordinates to enhance employee skills and accounting procedures; encourage growth
Ability to multi-task and work independently, efficiently under deadline.
Possess a positive, team-player attitude.
Proven experience managing staff and department operations.
Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills.
