The School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS) at the University of Miami invites applications for an Assistant/ Associate Professor of Clinical position. The SONHS seeks an energetic, and dynamic academic leader that may teach in our Graduate Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Among schools of nursing, the SONHS' scientific portfolio is ranked first in Florida and 23rd in the nation for NIH funding. Cutting-edge research conducted by some of the world's top healthcare scientists focuses on topics such as health disparities, cultural competence in healthcare, HIV and other STIs, substance abuse, family and intimate partner violence, mental health, patient outcomes, and patient safety, with a focus on nursing education and nursing workforce issues. The SONHS' 5-story, 41,000 square-foot, cutting-edge Simulation Hospital, replicates the true flow of activities in a clinical practice. It is a global destination for simulation-based education and research.
The incumbent will be responsible for teaching in the graduate nurse anesthesia programs, academic advising of students in the program, scholarship and research activities, community partnership and academic service activities, and participating in School committees.
Duties include: evaluating student performance, develop teaching methods, delivering a range of teaching and assessment activities including lectures, coursework, clinicals, simulation, doctoral projects, and placements according to own area of subject specialism. Plan and review own teaching load and approach to teaching. Be responsible for practical/clinical work where applicable, advise students, and to update teams on academic/curriculum issues. Carry out designated School functions, including, participation in committee work, assisting in the process of admissions, preparation of submission for teaching quality etc. Be responsible for the record-keeping associated with teaching and the preparation of teaching materials. Plan and manage own teaching and tutorials as agreed with the Dean of the School.
Candidates must have a CRNA license, Doctorate degree, and at least three years of progressive experience in addition to a portfolio in graduate nursing education in nurse anesthesia.
