The University of Georgia's College of Engineering has undergone rapid growth in its research and educational enterprise since becoming a standalone academic unit in 2012. Position Summary:


The College of Engineering at UGA wishes to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join Sensorweb Research Laboratory and create innovative IoT/CPS time-series data analytics methodologies and systems for health and security monitoring applications. The lab plays a leadership role in creating smart IoT/CPS systems for human and machine health and security monitoring applications, with the support of federal agencies (NSF, DOE and Air Force) and the healthcare and energy industry. This candidate will be under the direct supervision of Dr. WenZhan Song, a Georgia Power Mickey A. Brown Professor of Engineering and Founding Director of the Center for Cyber-Physical Systems. The key qualifications include: strong data analytics skills with advanced signal processing, machine learning and deep learning of time-series data; experience with Python, InfluxDB, Grafana, Linux and IoT platforms such as Raspberry PI is a plus.


Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:


B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent, as well as a Doctoral degree in Computer, Statistics or any data analytics-focused Engineering fields (or equivalent) by the date of appointment.


Hands-on experience with signal processing, machine learning, deep learning, and computer networking.


Strong python programming and embedded system development skills.


Candidates with awards in computer science and engineering related competitions are strongly encouraged to apply.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :


Strong data analytics experience with signal processing, machine learning and deep learning of time-series data; experience with Python, InfluxDB, Grafana, Linux and IoT platforms such as Raspberry PI is a plus.
