General Summary of Position:

The Faculty Senate and the Office of Academic Affairs are seeking a new addition to the University's Faculty Success Team in an administrative position with potential for growth. The Coordinator of Faculty Senate Operations and Projects provides administrative support to the Faculty Senate and its subcommittees, ensuring efficient operations of meetings and Senate business. The position's scope extends beyond matters exclusive to senate, and is fully integrated into the Academic Affairs faculty success team, working collaboratively with members of the provost's office and registrar's office to support curricular and program-related initiatives such as assessment, electronic record keeping, and process and policy improvements. While prioritizing Faculty Senate business, the Coordinator will also assist in helping to staff and to coordinate the new Faculty Success Center (and will divide their physical location between the Senate Office in Alumni Hall and the Faculty Success Center in UCrossing). This position will have a dual reporting line to the Faculty Senate President and the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):


  • Bachelor's Degree


  • At least 3 years of administrative support experience managing progressively complex responsibilities, preferably in an academic setting

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and building an inclusive culture


  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Calendar, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate across campus

  • Attention to details and deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to use sound discretion in interacting with faculty, administrators and staff

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in handling all matters

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of UML business processes and systems preferred

  • Experience planning and coordinating events preferred

  • Experience working directly with faculty preferred
