Summary of Duties


The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and expanding business and community partnerships in the service area, working in collaboration with the Health Sciences and Public Service (HSPS) division. The Coordinator is responsible for customer service ensuring HSPS partners' needs are met related to the Apprenticeship program, Pre-Apprenticeship program, Earn and Learn program, Internship program, and all workforce programming initiatives. The Coordinator, in collaboration with the HSPS division, is responsible for strategizing solutions to meet partner needs and coordinating all logistics, while the HSPS division act as content experts, as needed. The Coordinator will ensure students understand the process, requirements, timelines, and roles of their respective Apprenticeship program, Pre-Apprenticeship program, Earn and Learn program, and Internship program. The Coordinator will assist students in finding employers, for those who have not secured their own required internships. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting Enrollment Management, the Business Office, and all Academic faculty and staff with understanding the HSPS Apprenticeship program, Pre-Apprenticeship program, Earn and Learn program, and Internship program; including processes, requirements, timelines, funding, and all stakeholders' roles in that process. The Coordinator will keep metrics on each program to track workforce trends for continuous improvement to each program.

Duties & Responsibilities


Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.


  • Work in collaboration with related program faculty and key staff.

  • Work with HSPS students who need an experiential learning opportunity and connect them with business and industry partners with open positions. Evaluate students' career development needs (e.g., resume review and interview skills) with referral to the Career Development Office, when necessary.

  • Educate students regarding their program requirements: Apprenticeship program, Pre-Apprenticeship program, Earn and Learn program, Internship program.

  • Maintain and expand relationships with current business and industry partners, and create new partner relationships in collaboration with the HSPS division.

  • Support all HSPS partners who are involved in WDI programs and programming initiatives to ensure their needs are met by acting as the main partner contact, keeping partners in the communication loop, and running interference to resolve issues internally on their behalf.

  • Utilize knowledge of industries, workforce, and industry trends for the purpose of engaging the local/regional business community to participate in hiring our students.

  • Coordinating HSPS CEUs with corresponding organizations.

  • Assist staff and faculty with all program processes, requirements, and their role in them.

  • Prepare reports related to College-wide metrics related to assigned WDI programs.

  • Utilize college-based databases, programs and spreadsheets for tracking, reporting, and trend analysis purposes. Support WDI Systems Administrator with implementation of all software systems, system improvements, changes, and upgrades; assist job seekers and employers in the registration of accounts and overall job-board system use.

  • Participate in on-campus and off-campus meetings and events for the promotion of WDI programs.

  • In concert with the HSPS division and Systems Administrator, plan, coordinate and implement assigned programs/events; determine best strategy to proceed with partner needs, create pathways to connect WDI programming to Academic programs, schedule facilities, order supplies, manage preparation and distribution of invitations, track confirmations/registrations, keep contacts up-to-date and informed, measure outcomes and follow up with partners involved.

  • Working in collaboration with the Systems Administrator, maintain all records in compliance with the Rhodes State College Records Retention Policy.

  • Work with the state offices related to the Apprenticeship program and other state-sponsored programming, in conjunction with WDI leadership.

  • Serve as an active member of Shared Governance and institutional meetings as appropriate.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required:


  • Must be able to positively interact and communicate in writing and verbally with students, faculty, staff and external stakeholders.

  • Applicant must have an appreciation for and understanding of the two-year college mission.


  • Preferred:


  • Employer relations experience in health sciences, agriculture technology, social services, or criminal justice, is strongly preferred.
