Position Overview

This position is responsible for leading the management of Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives at assigned locations, managing a small team of EHS personnel, and supporting the PSM/RMP and environmental programs of business unit with EHS engineering support.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations Directors to build pillar specific goals that support continued EHS and cultural growth


• Lead the PSM/RMP efforts of the Plant Nutrient business to include performing: PHAs, audits, and regulatory filings


• Provide the Plant Nutrient business with environmental engineering support for sustainable solutioning and merger/acquisition due diligence


• Lead locations in Significant Injury and Fatality (SIF), Life Critical Policies and catastrophic risk reduction by providing training and education, coaching and mentoring.


• Guide the development of business EHS policies and procedures.


• Lead incident investigations that are Red Risk Classification.


• Develop and implement training programs.


• Collect data and analyze trends/gaps to make EHS recommendations for locations.


• Collaborate with leaders to identify/classify near-miss and incident risks.


• Ensure operations activities incorporate all necessary auditing, monitoring, reporting and inspections to comply with standards.

• Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operations challenges


• Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from senior manager


• Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers


• Ability to create and regulate own/team workload with little guidance

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering program required


• 10 -15 years relevant EHS experience required


• 5-10 years relevant experience in PSM/RMP program support required


• 2-5 years experience in leading/managing team preferred


• 2-5 years experience in environmental sustainability support preferred


• 50% travel requirement
