Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager / Assistant Vice President (AVP) orchestrates the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing of projects with a specific term that have a beginning, an end and specified deliverables. The Senior Project Manager moves project through the Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) governance process including ePMO processes, templates and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Clarity tool updates. The Senior Project Manager creates, manages and reports on project financials and budget. Projects may vary in number, size and complexity.

People:
Manages Project Manager role. Make work assignments, priorities and talent development
Recruit and hire staff, consultants, temp workers with appropriate skills
Onboard new team members to the IT PM team, Wintrust Technology and Wintrust Corporation
Mentor the team in the creation all project artifacts, including project plans, statements of work, status reports, etc
Continuous Improvement:
Recommend enhancements to streamline Clarity tool usage
Look for opportunities to enhance best practices and recommends those changes and improvements
Partner with the ePMO to define, implement, and continually optimizing standards, templates, and processes for the team
Develop and maintain a good rapport with all IT departments to ensure continued adoption of the PM methodology and their active involvement in the planning and execution aspects of IT projects
Utilize post-project reviews with project participants/stakeholders and create a lessons learned or retrospective document. Leverage learnings to enhance and improve projects moving forward
Partner with the ePMO to assist in defining and refining the governance structure
Communication: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner. Comfortable talking with all levels of management
Foster teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions
Qualifications and Attributes
5-10 years of related experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience with one or more project management tool (Clarity preferred)
Ethical behavior and business practices
Effective data visualization and storytelling
Strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail and follow-up skills
Identification and communication of issues early. Brings recommendations and options to resolve issues.
