Job Description:

SCOPE
This Job Description applies to the direction, coordination and control of the Controlling Department within the VAM USA organization. To manage the department economically and effectively to produce the desired business operating results for VAM USA and meet all business and compliance requirements. Safety and Health is an absolute priority, therefore it is everyone’s responsibility to stay diligent and follow the organizations rigorous safety standards.


SUMMARY OF DUTIES



  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

  • Provide reporting to VAM USA management and Corporate stakeholders on a monthly and quarterly basis with financial and qualitative metrics.

  • Measure and report on cost savings efforts for the manufacturing facilities and assist the plant managers in understanding their expenses.

  • Provide budget to actual analyses for SG&A.

  • Analyze financial data for variance analyses, savings targets and working capital targets.

  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget, 5 year strategic plan and monthly forecasts.

  • Monitor a multi-million capital expenditure budget for cash spent and overruns by project.

  • Provide financial, commercial and strategic support to the business.

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s revenue recognition policies.

  • Perform seller side intercompany reconciliations.

  • Collaborates with the other Group finance departments to support overall department goals and objectives.

  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Must follow all company policies, practices and regulations to include Safety and Quality.

  • Any other duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:



  • Knowledge of principles and practice of local government financial operation, GAAP, and Federal and State Laws and regulations.

  • Extensive knowledge of corporate reporting requirements.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel.

  • Must be comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to key executives and influencing at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to read, write and speak well in English.

  • Must possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to understand and execute instructions through strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Must be able to pass applicable testing as required.


EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATION:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline is required.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in general ledger accounting, financial planning & analysis or financial reporting preferred
