Job Description:

Effective September 20, 2021, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA) has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy that requires all new hire employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition of employment.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The mission of the HCAA Internal Audit Department is to assist the Authority in achieving its mission by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. The HCAA Internal Audit Department seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated intern interested in learning internal audit processes, technology concepts, and auditing tools. The selected individual will receive supervised, hands-on auditing experience, which includes assisting the Audit team in supporting audit objectives by performing research, analyzing transactions, and supporting documentation, performing data collection and analysis, collaborating with the Audit Team and employees from other business units to resolve issues, maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and preparing audit workpapers and reports.

No travel is required. This internship is an in-person opportunity, and you must be able to work approximately 24 hours per week.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with the performance of the professional audit and attestation engagements during all phases of planning, fieldwork, and reporting. 

  • Interact with departments across the entire organization and commercial entities with contractual relationships with the Authority. 

  • Report to the Senior Auditor, and work performed will be supervised and reviewed by various members of the Internal Audit Team.

  • Contribute to HCAA’s daily operations while learning more about the organization and the aviation industry.

  • Align close to staff that leverages their academic skills and considers their future career aspirations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must be a college-level junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing an Accounting or related Business degree including, but not limited to, Economics, Finance, or Computer Science.

  • Student must be in good standing with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.

  • A current school transcript is required.

  • Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of data analytic software desired (IDEA or ACL preferred).

  • Candidates must have the authorization to work permanently in the US without the need for sponsorship (now or in the future)

INTERNSHIP DETAILS


  • Internship is up to 30 hours per week for a 10 week period.  Hours will be determined based on department needs and the intern’s school schedule.   

COMPENSATION


  • Pay Rate is $19.00 per hour.
