Reinsurance Contract Analyst at Chubb in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include: implementation of reinsurance treaty agreements protecting Chubb business units, analyzing Chubb treaty reinsurance agreements, identifying terms and conditions, facilitating the timely and accurate registration of ceded reinsurance premium, analysis of premium/commission registration, and other business covered/attachment criteria at an advanced level.  The Reinsurance Contract Analyst will report to senior managers within the Reinsurance Contracts group of Chubb Reinsurance Services.  The candidate will interact with a diverse group of internal & external personnel including Divisional Financial Officers, IT business analysts, business unit management, Ceded Reinsurance buyers, integration project staff and management. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 


  1. Interpret and implement treaty reinsurance agreements supporting various Chubb business units.

 


  1. Assist with the design, testing and implementation of ceded premium and commission generation routines on applicable reinsured business

 


  1. Partner with IT and reinsurance claims organization in the creation of valid business covered rules used for claim identification.  Implement contract automation changes supporting timely ceded loss registration, billing, and collection.

 


  1. Complete data analysis and reconciliations for quality control of claims attachment and premium registration.

 


  1. Support reinsurance claims and accounting processes dependent on technical contract structures and set up.

 


  1. Communicate and resolve issues with Underwriting organization, Finance, and reinsurance intermediaries impacting efficient execution of ceded reinsurance programs.

 


  1. Assists in the planning and implementation of special projects and performs other duties and tasks in-order-to meet company objectives within established time frames.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 


  1. Successful completion of college level curriculum with a concentration in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics.

 


  1. Excellent technical skills. Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

 


  1. Knowledge of reinsurance operations and industry practices. 

 


  1. Excellent organizational skills, result orientation, and attention to detail.

 


  1. Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and develop viable solutions.  Must be able to set high standards for self-performance and meet them.

 


  1. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.  Must possess ability to express ideas effectively and produce written documents that have appropriate organization, structure, and correct grammar.

 


  1. Proactive work ethic – ability to think ahead and proactively address situations and opportunities as they arise; this will be reflected through actions and ability to act decisively and boldly.

 

Additional Considerations

 


  1. In progress or successful completion of industry professional designations – CPCU or ARe a plus.
