In this role as a Customer Service Representative, you'll take incoming calls, receive orders, schedule daily deliveries and address customer issues as they arise. You will also help operate the scale by collecting and sorting delivery tickets, then assist in entering information into the computer system. You'll provide top tier customer service, playing an integral part as we work together to build our communities. We work hard, and we have fun doing it!

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Customer Serice Representative (CSR) Duties:


  • Intake and verify orders

  • Maintain a pleasant and accommodating demeanor over the phone and always demonstrate positive and professional attitude with customers, drivers, dispatchers, salesmen, etc.

  • Aggressively seek timely solutions to developing problems while fostering lasting business relationships with our customers

  • Develop a positive rapport with Ready Mix Drivers, Team members and the customers

  • Schedule, dispatch and control the appropriate level of drivers required to satisfy customer demand while maintaining safety and efficiency goals established by the company

  • Must be able to navigate various GPS systems. Needs to be familiar with our local delivery areas and must be able to assist drivers in finding jobsites.

  • Must be able to work overtime and varying shift including early mornings, late afternoons and Saturdays

  • Record accurate deliver and product information on order, negotiates delivery times with customers

  • Attention to detail is imperative to accurately record delivery and product information into command dispatch system with ability to negotiate delivery times with customers

  • Must be able to perform in high call volume situations while multitasking with plants, team members in the office while sitting for long periods of time

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Scale Operator Duties:


  • Ensure efficiency of weighing trucks across scale.

  • Monitor load sizes of company trucks.

  • Service all customer pick-up business.

  • Cash procedures i.e.: Required to receive and log cash from C.O.D. sales, concrete, and gravel tickets. Required to balance and maintain cash box. Credit card handling, and cash daily balance required.

  • Communicate with loader operator via two-way radio to accomplish the loading of pick-up customers.

  • Greet and assist visitors entering yard. Ensure site specific safety rules are understood and followed.


  • Collect and sort aggregate and concrete order cards along with delivery tickets.

  • Enter delivery times off concrete tickets into computer system.

  • Scan delivery tickets into computer system

  • Maintain MSHA Part 46 Log ensuring compliance.

  • Regular and timely attendance.

  • Other tasks as assigned to meet business needs,

  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

  • Previous related experience in a construction environment and/or trucking preferred.

    Knowledge/Skill Requirements



  • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance and attendance.

  • Demonstrates the ability to perform work efficiently utilizing a computer.

  • Demonstrates the ability to do basic math.

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel via telephone and two-way radio.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.

  • Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends.

  • Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees.

  • Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.

  • Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

  • High attention to detail is required.

  • Must pass background check and pre-employment controlled substance testing.

  • Bilingual
