Job Summary:

Empire, the local Caterpillar dealer for heavy equipment, is looking for a talented Marketing Project Manager to join one of the top ranked family-owned companies in Arizona. As a Marketing Project Manager, you will be responsible for the creation of Marketing plans that include the recommended budget, channel strategy, and project execution to market for your assigned business division. You are the marketing liaison for your assigned business unit and collaborate closely understanding their business challenges and solutions needed. Your work will involve representing more than 50 brands. The ideal candidate will have experience in driving key corporate business strategies and recommendations through the development of creative marketing solutions including ideation, process management, content development, copywriting, visual graphics, and production. This role understands the foundational aspects of marketing and utilizes market assessment, competitive positioning, and customer understanding and planning to deliver comprehensive plans and communicating results on a timely basis. You will consult closely with internal clients and outside vendors to plan, manage and execute projects from concept through final production. The range of projects include new product introductions, store merchandising, client experience initiatives, employee recognition campaigns, corporate branding, web content, and more.

Essential Functions:


  1. Develop and execute effective Marketing Campaigns tailored to customer segments, using tactics such as direct mail, trade publications, email and online channels, signage and mass media where appropriate. Will develop metrics appropriate to demonstrate campaign results.
  2. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects, including communication of client needs to internal marketing team.
  3. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand project priorities in the context of client expectations. Be the focal point for production, timeline and resourcing issues.
  4. Serve as consultant in the application of marketing to the sales process to achieve goals. Ensures sales teams have the proper marketing materials to articulate our value proposition and are aware of and use materials.
  5. Manage tactical budget effectively and provide periodic update reports to management.
  6. Working with internal resources, plan and execute events for customer appreciation, trade shows, open houses, trade associations, employee appreciation, etc.
  7. Work with E-Marketing Specialist to develop and maintain website content, including regular updates of specials and promotions.
  8. Research, understand and communicate market conditions and division/department/location performance to identify opportunities for growth, diversification or additional market focus.
  9. Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors and marketing best practices as related to the lines of business supported.
  10. Understands brand requirements and compliance for all aspects of our business.
  11. Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.
  12. Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:


  1. Provides backup support to general administrative functions within the Marketing Department.
  2. Perform graphic design for print and online advertisements, sales collateral and other communications as needed.
  3. Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel over night as needed.
  4. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  5. Work within and promote corporate values.

Additional Level Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:


  1. Proven track record in managing marketing projects from inception to completion with measureable results.
  2. Knowledge of all aspects of marketing including project management integrated marketing communications, direct marketing and advertising including functions of copywriting, graphic design, online marketing, and branding.
  3. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
  4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  5. Ability to generate high level campaign ideation to meet client goals and objectives.
  6. Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  7. Strong team player. Strong interpersonal skills. A self-starter who is a motivated contributor and brings a positive attitude to the team.
  8. Strong organizational skills, including project management, and the ability to think creatively.
  9. Strong attention to detail, problem solving and internal communications.
  10. Ability to cope with the rapid pace and constant change associated with the industry.
  11. Ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  12. Must be able to keep abreast of new technologies.
  13. Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
  14. Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.

Education and Experience:


  1. 4-year degree in Marketing, Business Development, Media Communications, e-commerce or similar discipline.
  2. Minimum 4 years' relevant Marketing experience, industry experience preferred,
  3. Experience in defining and managing the scope of projects with metrics to determine performance.
  4. Experience in creative and technical writing for marketing purposes.
  5. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator a plus.
  6. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
