Job Description:

SUMMARY

Under supervision, perform administrative related duties related to payroll processing. Responsible for troubleshooting and assisting personnel across the enterprise with payroll related inquiries, administering payment programs, and performing account reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  1. Assist personnel at all levels across the enterprise by answering payroll related inquiries.

  2. Verify and process employee time cards; process attendance corrections.

  3. Enroll employees into applicable programs due to a qualified event or based upon new hire status.

  4. Administer benefit payment programs (e.g. director car stipend, fitness reimbursements, dependent scholarship program).

  5. Enter database changes based upon submitted documentation (e.g. Employee Profile).

  6. Process garnishment and withholding orders such as tax levies, child support judgements, etc.

  7. Perform account reconciliations due to transactions (e.g. tax withholding) that trigger journal changes.

  8. Assist with the filing of employee records and employment verifications.

  9. Research and resolve PTO and W2 discrepancies.

  10. Maintain knowledge of applicable payroll laws as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE


  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred.

  2. Three (3) to five (5) years experience in a payroll environment preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  1. Strong organizational, problem resolution, verbal and written communication skills.

  2. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and within established deadlines.

  3. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  4. Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (e.g., Excel, Word, PeopleSoft).

  5. Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
