PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under limited direction, this position is responsible for our fleet and its end-to-end lifecycle management, directing and coordinating the maintenance, operations, contracting and use of company fleet operations, either owned or leased. This position is the primary owner of third- party fleet management relationships and contracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates performance of assigned personnel. Identifies and effectively resolves personnel issues.
Negotiates bids and contracts with contractors and other third-party vendors as they relate to Company fleet.
Will maintain and drive relationship with third party lease management company to understand utilization and opportunities for improvement.
Negotiates contracts for fleet maintenance, fuel programs and other related services and monitors performance of services provided. Acts as Company liaison with third- party fleet management services to include relationship management and spend
analysis.
Provides recommended changes in, or additions to, practices and procedures related to the operation of the fleet on an enterprise-wide basis. Implements all related corporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Knowledge of fleet and lease management practices required.
Licenses/Certifications
Valid in-state driver’s license required.
Experience
Six years Fleet/Lease Management experience required. To include:
• Two years of team supervisory experience.
Experience managing a nationwide fleet of diverse vehicle types preferred.
Experience managing a large fleet (including CMV) of more than 200 vehicles preferred.
Skills/Abilities
Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Good supervisory skills with the ability to effectively utilize and develop personnel to execute job tasks.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management and provide consistently high levels of customer service.
Ability to think strategically and independently.
Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving, negotiating, and prioritizing skills.
Ability to make sound decisions and work well under pressure.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Proficient computer skills.
Ability to travel (25%).
