About the role:

The Maintenance Lead reports to the Manufacturing Superintendent. You will coordinate work and ensures repairs are completed in a timely manner. The Maintenance Lead is responsible for providing a high level of maintenance support for all equipment in the filling and packaging areas. You will oversee and inspect work to make sure standards have been met, using diagnostic equipment, providing support and advice with repairs, and maintaining equipment. As well as ensuring manufacturing lines are well maintained and ready to run during planned production time, which requires providing on time PM completion, consistent monitoring during production to spot and resolve issues before they impact production.

How you will contribute:


  • Accountable for assigned manufacturing lines, continually monitor, and communicate with manufacturing to reduce down-time

  • Provide a high level of troubleshooting ability to repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Schedule work orders and review inventory in advance to ensure parts are available to complete PMs on time

  • Oversee building and rebuilding of machine assemblies

  • Communicate equipment issues and work status to supervisor and manufacturing leaders

  • Initiate work orders using CMMS system

  • Perform PM work and assign work related to the Galaxy process when work is required to maintain equipment reliability and efficiency

  • Share knowledge and train less experienced technicians in the manufacturing processes and all related equipment including safety, PMs, and troubleshooting.

  • Resolve maintenance issues and execute contingency plans.

  • Solicit engineering assistance when tasks warrant support

  • Lead safe work practices

  • Maintain 100% on time completion of all required training

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, plus 6+ years of work related experience or Associates degree or higher and 4+ years of work related experience

  • Technical certifications a plus

  • 10+ years manufacturing systems experience preferred

  • Must be able to carry up to 100lbs, lift up to 100lbs, push/pull up to 100lbs (with assistance of material handling equipment).

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for an extended period of time over an 8-12 hour shift between rooms and across the site.

  • May require bending, twisting, reaching overhead, and/or squatting motions to perform certain tasks

  • Indoor working conditions

  • Will work around moving equipment and machinery

  • May be required to work in confined spaces/areas.

  • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings

  • Advance knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • Must have a good understanding of programmable logic controllers, using PLC as troubleshooting tool

  • Experience with JDE or similar CMMS

  • This role is a night shift, 6:00pm - 6:30am in a 2-2-3 work schedule configuration.

Important Considerations

In this role, you may:


  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
