Primary Job Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining the plant’s safety standard. Immediately report all unsafe acts and unsafe conditions to supervision/management and ensure resolution.
Assist in maintaining the plant’s quality and sanitation standards. Assist in coordination with QA department on all product issues. Follow and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices. Assume responsibility of a good safe wholesome product being produced safely.
Assist ensuring employees are adhering to all company polices. Assist maintaining an environment free of harassment and discrimination.
Ensure effective use of all plant control tools (SOPs, SSOPs, etc.) to ensure accurate reporting of sanitizing documentation, material, and labor utilization. Ensure timeliness of reporting.
Ensure all production equipment and surrounding areas are clean and sanitary before next day production.
Use chemicals for cleaning.
Operate sanitation department equipment in a safe and proficient manner.
Operate a forklift and genie boom in a safe and proficient manner.
Perform self-inspection on each task before moving to the next.
Keep all storage areas clean and in good order.
Keep tools and equipment clean, in good working order and properly stored.
Keep all documentation current, up-to date and properly filed.
Notify Sanitation Supervisor immediately of any damage to plant or sanitation equipment or tools.
Primary backup to Sanitation Supervisor.
Responsible to ensure food safety/quality polices are followed, to report all food safety/quality problems out of his/her realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
All other duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
1 to 2 years of manufacturing sanitation experience
Ability to read and understand Chemical Safety Data Sheets
Knowledge of chemical use and handling
Ability to become LO/TO authorized user
Ability to read and perform basic mathematical calculations
