Business Analytics Advisor - Total Cost of Care

The Emerging Health Trends team is looking for an innovative business analytics advisor to help us in our mission to provide personalized, actionable data driven insights for customers with chronic conditions, and work with cross-functional partners to streamline accessible and affordable care.

We are looking for a business analytics advisor to help us to document, model and track total cost of care benefits from products developed by Evernorth Health Solutions.

The Business Analytics Advisor will play an active part of a dynamic team that utilizes analytics to identify and track emerging health trends. This individual will be a subject matter expert who can offer actionable insights for prioritizing clinical opportunities on a customer and client basis and evaluating performance of existing products. This position will work closely stakeholders and cross-functional partners across the enterprise, providing insights from analyses to answer business questions about chronic diseases. What is the clinical profile of participants? What is the expected population for the product? What are expected savings?

Role Summary:

The ideal candidate has strong statistical and analytical skills, previous experience in the healthcare industry, can model potential savings from clinical interventions, can effectively communicate data insights and recommendations to business stakeholders in non-technical language. The responsibilities are as follows:


  • Develop clinically-appropriate models of potential total cost of care savings from analytic solutions prioritizes specific interventions and clinical actions for customer and client

  • Engage with stakeholders to assess business needs and understand how analytics affects the broader business, bridging the gap between data insights and business stakeholders with regular and clear communication

  • Understand business problems brought by stakeholders and how best to utilize statistics, data analytics, predictive modeling to develop appropriate solutions

  • Guide and collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and engineers to monitor and evaluate pilots, and evaluate efficacy of various chronic disease programs

  • Work collaboratively with other Digital and Analytics teams and cross-functional partners within Consumer Health Engagement (CHE), Data Analytics & Engineering, Operations, Product, and Information Technology to develop, execute, and maintain analytic products in a changing healthcare environment

  • Querying healthcare data (claims, clinical, pharmacy, externally sourced) across a variety of big data (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, and Scala), other database platforms (Teradata, SQL databases), and cloud platforms like AWS.

  • Explore and visualize the data using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, Looker, etc.

  • Provide written and verbal insights to stakeholders focusing on value added of recommended data driven insights

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Qualifications:


  • Degree highly preferred in Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Epidemiology , Public Health, or clinical discipline (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Medicine, Psychology, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy) or equivalent work experience.

  • Hands-on programming experience working with statistical programs (e.g. SAS, Python or R, and SQL) required.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of statistical methods used for predictive and clinical modeling and demonstrated aptitude of applying appropriate methods to answer a business or research question, strengthening management's ability to make good business decisions.

  • Previous work experience blending analytical, technical, and business acumen to problem solve

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to a variety of audiences

  • Proven ability to collaborate with others, establish working relationships, and communicate effectively within a large corporate matrix environment; Agile experience a plus

  • Self-motivated, comfort with ambiguity, and flexible

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 90,500 - 150,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
