JOB DESCRIPTION:


  • Coordinates the development and implementation of department onboarding, orientation, initial and ongoing clinical education, training and skills competency programs for all Cardiac Cath and EP Lab personnel.

  • Provides leadership in order to integrate new knowledge and innovation.

  • Promotes, enhances, and maintains high standards of employee professional growth in providing quality patient care.

  • Creates staff development plans through administering continual needs assessments.

  • Demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge, expert interventional skills, and is a resource for staff.

  • Actively involved in special projects and process improvement initiatives for the department.

  • Functions in a leadership role as a clinical expert.

  • May provide secondary day to day operations leadership as needed.

  • Maintains department specific quality, accreditation and clinical competency programs.

  • Maintains regulatory compliant departmental documentation of staff training and competency.

  • Remains current in evidence-based invasive cardiovascular care.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining departmental policies and procedures.

  • Serves as a role model.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must have 3-5 years of clinical experience in a Cath Lab or EP Lab.

  • Must have a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree with a license in the state of Georgia. Be a graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology with clinical concentration in Cath Lab or EP Lab with RCIS or RCES, or graduate of a Radiology Tech program with an ARRT.

  • Baccalaureate degree required.

  • BLS, ACLS required.

  • Master's degree preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.


    ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
