Hiring Immediately - $2500 Sign on Bonus

$18.67 - $19.30 hourly Tuesday - Friday (Rates include night shift differential) 

$20.16-$20.84 hourly Saturday and Sun (Rates include night and weekend shift differential)

Shifts - Tuesday - Saturday 3-11:30 or Sun - Thur 3-11:30

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for delivering blood product orders to hospital customers within committed timeframes.  Incumbents may pick up freshly collected blood from Vitalant donor sites and blood drives.   This position acts as the face of Vitalant within our customer facilities and demonstrates professional and helpful service with each interaction.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations.  Responsible for bringing compliance issues to the attention of management.

Assures quality customer service to all customers, including escalating any customer concerns and feedback appropriately.

Demonstrates respect for all team members by seeking input on processes and problem solving, communicating key information, collaborative teamwork and supporting a culture of diversity.

Professionally and safely delivers blood product orders to Vitalant hospital customers using a company vehicle.  May deliver products and packages to airport cargo desks, and Vitalant sites. Conforms with required delivery timeframes to meet logistics parameters and customer expectations.  

Pick up sample tubes, freshly collected blood, and/or business-related items from blood drive sponsor organizations, hospitals, airports, and Vitalant sites.  Ensure freshly collected product/sample tubes arrive at the manufacturing site or testing laboratory within required timeframes to meet production schedule.

Collaborates with internal stakeholders to plan daily delivery route by assessing order priority metrics, time-of-day traffic patterns, and the number of customer stops required.  Loads vehicle to ensure quick unload based on the established route/delivery priorities.

Prioritizes deliveries, handling of shipments and sample pick-ups to align with order status, testing and manufacturing needs and contract terms.   

Prepares shipping and packing materials and supplies needed to maintain operations and meet/exceed order turn-around times.

Performs daily company vehicle visual inspection and basic vehicle maintenance.  Maintains required vehicle logs.

Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Education

High school graduate or equivalency required.     

Ability to read and write English required.

Licenses/Certifications

Valid in-state driver’s license required.

Experience

Minimum 6-months of customer service experience required.  

Driving experience in a business environment preferred.

Prior inside delivery experience preferred.

Healthcare industry experience preferred.

Skills/Abilities

Good communication and customer relations skills in order to deal effectively with customers and staff. Demonstrated excellent verbal skills. 

Detail oriented to ensure accuracy on paperwork and ensuring all required processes are followed. Must be comfortable with mobile device/technology. 

Positive team-oriented attitude.

Ability to work independently with ability to make sound judgements. Willingness and judgement to escalate problems and issues to management as needed. 

Able to work on-call, various shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime. 

Must be able to work in various weather conditions. 

Able to meet all physical requirements with or without accommodation.  

Must possess a good driving record.

Travel within the blood center service area required.
