Material Handler - 1st-shift at High Steel Service Center, LLC in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

High Steel Service Center LLC has a 200,000-square-foot facility with 150,000 tons of capacity. A full-line metal processor and distributor, High Steel Service Center offers carbon steel, aluminum flat-rolled and stainless steel products.

We are currently hiring for a 1st-shift Material Handler to join our dedicated team, in Lancaster, PA. 

1st-shift runs Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM. 

Overtime hours are required, depending on business and staffing demands. Co-workers must be flexible to work overtime. 

Co-workers will earn at least $18.00/hr, after successful completion of their 90-day probationary period.

The Material Handler is responsible for working in a safe and efficient manner to manage general line/coil stock and finished products or material, using a forklift, crane, or side loader. 

Additional job responsibilities include:


  • Maintaining stock and raw material in proper bays and individual locations, for current and/or future use in operations.

  • Working with machine operators for the packaging and storing of materials off production lines.

  • Keeping accurate inventory records by understanding inventory system and requirements.

  • Maintaining equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. 

Work qualifications and education requirements include:


  • High School diploma or GED

  • Forklift operation experience required.

  • Crane operation experience preferred, but not required.

  • Previous manufacturing or warehousing experience required.

  • Ability to work in both a team environment and as an individual contributor.
