Job Description:

Community Solutions Inc is seeking an Intervention Specialist to join our team at our Bridgeport AIC program.  The AIC, or Alternative in the Community program is a community based alternative to incarceration and provides multifaceted intervention services for offenders awaiting trial, or who are on probation or parole.  The program uses Motivational Interviewing techniques and curricula-drive, evidence-based models designed to assess the needs of each client to reduce individual risk factors.  As an Intervention Specialist, your role will be to facilitate positive change in client behavior through the facilitation of evidence based group sessions based on assessments made through the use of motivational enhancement strategies.  You will work closely with your clients to help develop individual goals and make positive changes in their lives.

Schedule: M/W/F 9am-5pm & T/Th 12pm-8pm                           Starting wage:  $21.05 per hour

Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the responsible citizenship, accountability, and well-being of individuals and families involved, or at risk of involvement, in the child welfare, juvenile justice, or criminal justice system. Since CSIs founding in 1962, it has been a pioneer in the community-based service. We have been delivering supervision, treatment, and comprehensive individualized services to help clients interact more effectively in their communities and become productive citizens. Using this plan we built the first ever halfway house in New England which has now been replicated and grown to almost 50 programs in 9 states. For over 50 years, CSI has been building upon its successful foundations and has been expanding its services to serve thousands of adults, youth, and families each year.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:


  • Participate in Service Team Meetings by presenting new client assessments.

  • Prepare, plan and facilitate individual and group sessions.

  • Document the group and individual sessions.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans.

  • Based on work flow of the office IS may be assigned clients for case management.

  • Maintain client files and ensure compliance. 

  • Submit pre-trial progress reports. 

  • Submit Monthly progress reports for probation to supervisor. 

  • Serve as a role model to clients and staff by modeling pro-social behaviors.

  • Secure urines from same sex clients.

  • Monitor case load to ensure all urines and breathalyzes required are randomly requested and are secured.

  • Provide coverage of front desk duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science field and one year experience in case management or similar field. Education may be substituted with experience on a year for year basis.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills desired.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

  • COVID19 vaccination or a negative test prior to start date.
