Loan Control / Document Custody Associate at Mizuho Americas Services LLC in Jersey City, New Jersey

Job Description:

1. Summary:

Reporting to the Loan Control Unit – Unit Head, the staff member is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and reporting of the daily operating activity of the Loan Control Unit’s (“LCU”) Document Control function.  The function carried out by the above named staff member provides the Unit Head of the LCU with support performing Vault Custody, and is responsible for ensuring that all transaction documentation received by LCU is inspected for accountability, processed to the banks’ optical imaging system, and ultimately filed and stored in the banks’ vault. This function ultimately provides the bank with the ability to control the inflow/outflow of all transaction documentation related to credit facilities booked by MHBK, and the orderly filing and safekeeping of the same.   

2. Principle Duties:

General Duties


  • Manage/support the Vault Custody function.


  • Provide Front Office, and other Mizuho Operations with a contact point to discuss/resolve open issues, and procedural controls as it relates to LCU’s Vault Custody activities.


  • Ensuring the timely processing of transaction information, as it relates to the receipt, scanning and filing of loan documentation.   This includes support of provisional monitoring efforts of LCU.


  • Responsible for ensuring that procedures established for LCU are periodically updated, and followed.


  • Ability to troubleshoot/address problem situations associated with LCU’s Document Custody work. 


Exception Duties (As requested by Unit Head)


  • Provide LCU management with periodic status reports of the bank vault and contents.


  • Assist the LCU Unit Head with the development and implementation of business plans, objectives, and policies and procedures for the Unit, through the presentation of constructive and innovative ideas for new methods within established framework.


  • Other duties as assigned by LCU Unit Head


Compliance

  • Obtain a basic understanding of the applicable rules and regulations that govern the Bank.  Understand that all questions and/or clarification about such rules and regulations should be directed to the Americas Legal and Compliance Division.  Attend Annual Compliance Training presented by the Americas Legal and Compliance Division.  Read and respond as necessary to all compliance-related reference and directive materials received.  Comply with the Bank’s “Code of Conduct”.

3. Qualifications:


  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree.


  • Strong leadership skills.


  • Must have very strong organizational/communication skills.


  • Must have at least 5-10 years experience Corporate Banking/Corporate Finance Documentation background.


  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.


  • ONBASE experience (optional).


The expected base salary ranges from $62,000 - $90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
