The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Systems Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Providing systems controls solutions to a variety of new and existing automated process equipment


• Interacting with process engineers and controls engineers to understand problems and assess the need for smart manufacturing solutions


• Troubleshooting sensor logic, controls, and servo drives/motors


• Working on machine installation and commissioning


• Driving improvements in safety, quality, service, and cost

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.


• Minimum of two (2) years’ working knowledge of various PC software applications necessary to perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production equipment in a private, public, government, or military environment.


• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with Allen-Bradley and/or similar PLC controls systems and hardware in a private, public, government, or military environment.


• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with vision systems, automation, and robotics in a private, public, government, or military environment.


• Ability to work a fixed 1st (first) shift and overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• 5+ years of electronic systems, programming, maintenance, or manufacturing


• Associate degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Experience in a private, public, government or military environment


• Ability to write operating procedures for new equipment and machines


• Thorough understanding of logic circuits and PLC Networks  


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Self-starter, results driven behaviors

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
