Agronomy Manager
A Land O'Lakes member owner cooperative in Archer, Iowa is adding an Agronomy Manager to their team! The role of the Agronomy Manager is to direct, promote and coordinate agronomy sales and operations in a manner that will optimize the cooperative's market share and savings, improve the cooperative's efficiency, help achieve the cooperative's mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.
Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties
Sales, Marketing and Customer Service
Promote the sales of all cooperative agronomy and related products, to farmer patrons on the basis of sales records, marketing surveys, scouting, advertising development and other promotional methods.
Prepare, plan, execute and report a sales program to current and prospective accounts.
Work to increase market share.
Work with General Manager to develop sales goals and action plans.
Monitor the competitions marketing and pricing strategies.
Oversee the quality and delivery of agronomy products and services in a timely manner.
Oversee the maintenance of cooperative's agronomy plant and equipment. Eliminate unnecessary maintenance repairs or expenses.
Continually upgrade knowledge on agronomy products and services.
Handle customer complaints smoothly and notifies General Manager as needed
Provide product training to other cooperative employees as requested by management.
Accounting, Controls, Inventory and Record Keeping
Ensure tickets are made out for all products delivered and services rendered.
Work with General Manager in keeping accounts receivable within acceptable limits.
Maintains daily sales and call reports.
Safety, Environmental Protection and Maintenance
Abide by all the cooperative's safety and environmental policies and current industry standards.
Attend and actively participates on safety committee and safety meetings as requested by management.
Monitor and train less experienced employees to ensure safe practices.
Ensure that work area and vehicles are clean and well maintained
General Duties
Enforce the cooperative's credit policy.
Maintain open communication with supervisor, departments, and fellow employees.
Upgrade training by learning on the job, attending schools and seminars, or by reading product and industry information as requested by supervisor.
Cooperate with and works to enhance other departments.
Promote the co-op by maintaining a positive image and attitude that promotes teamwork.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous agronomic experience and a sound understanding of agronomic practices
Valid Driver's License
Ability to obtain a CDL within one year of employment
Valid Commercial Applicators License or the ability to obtain with 90 days of employment
Certified Crop Advisor (preferred)
