Corporate Security Officer
As a Corporate Security Officer, you will directly and indirectly provide safety, security, and outstanding customer service for all employees, contingent workers, vendors, and visitors at the Best Buy Bloomington Campus. You will help educate them on Best Buy Safety and Security procedures and enable them to help us keep the Bloomington Campus safe and secure.

The officer is an integral part of the Bloomington Security team and performs responsibilities within the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and supports and partners with the Bloomington Distribution Center safety team.

Shifts available for Gatehouse & Security Desk:

• Tuesday – Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm


• Saturday from 5:00am – 1:00pm

Job Responsibilities

1. Provide outstanding customer service to all employees, contingent workers, vendors, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.


2. Working at various security stations throughout the Bloomington Campus (which may include extended standing or sitting).


3. Checking identification of drivers and ensuring the security of property and product in the Distribution Center truck/trailer yard.


4. Patrolling of the Best Buy Studios, Virtual Experience Store and Distribution Center to ensure security standards are being met both on foot and in a patrol vehicle.


5. Monitor alarms and video cameras, manage physical security access control standards and permissions for all building badge and key access permissions for the Best Buy Studios, Virtual Experience Store, and Best Buy Distribution Center.


6. Respond to all emergencies and provide medical care to all patients at the Bloomington Campus.


7. Provide assistance as needed in matters that pertain to safety and security of the Best Buy Corporate Campus.

Basic Requirements

• 1+ year of Customer Service Experience in retail, hospitality or similar


• Valid Minnesota Driver’s License, or have the ability to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of Security experience in a corporate, retail, hospital, or college setting preferred


• 1+ years of Emergency Response Experience, such as law enforcement, firefighting services, emergency medical services or related field


• 1+ years Emergency Medical Response Certified; Emergency Medical Technician Certified; First Aid, CPR and AED Certified; or Community Emergency Response Team Certified


• Previous experience with Lenel OnGuard, Genetec CCTV systems and Intrusion and fire alarm panels.
