Job Description:

Under the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) cooperative agreement, Heluna Health and the Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC) of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) are recruiting for a Health Program Specialist to oversee state sponsored testing site contracts within the Testing Task Force (TTF).

The position’s responsibilities include responding to inquiries from various external CDPH-partnered testing sites, organizations wanting to set up testing, local health jurisdictions, and a variety of other stakeholders. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will support the Chair of the Testing Task Force by assisting in coordinating/scheduling meetings and taking meeting notes.  The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for requesting computer and/or systems access for new staff, responding to emails, and conduct troubleshooting. The position will interact and collaborate with several multidisciplinary CDPH teams as well as other internal and external partners throughout all stages of testing pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic response.

This position is grant funded through 7/31/2023 but may be extended if funding is available.

This position is Part Time with the ability to increase to Full Time as the program needs change.

Hourly range: $26.68 to $32.33, hourly

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Manages Testing Task Force email box.

  • Provides support to the TTF Chair and workstream leads.

  • Facilitates meetings with internal teams.

  • Takes notes in meetings.

  • Manages special projects requested by TTF leadership.

  • Requests computer access/email accounts for new staff.

  • Schedules internal and external meetings at the request of TTF leadership

  • Manages SharePoint and other shared drive access and documents.

  • Provides back up support in entering orders for COVID-19 tests.

  • Completes assignments in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse disciplines and staff roles/positions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with staff on day-to-day response work as well as leadership.

  • Demonstrates flexibility, reliability and integrity.

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Education/Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.

  • Two years of experience managing complex projects, preferred.

  • Two years of experience in public health field, preferred.
