Role description

Reporting to the Global Head of Talent Acquisition, the Global Sourcing Head will lead the Sourcing team and implement effective external search solutions, supporting the business to obtain the best, and most diverse, talent available in the market place. The successful candidate will serve as the subject matter expert in diversity recruiting and be responsible for developing diverse sourcing strategies to identify and attract talent in the external market. An expert in sourcing best practice, you will consult with business unit leaders, HR partners, and TA colleagues to develop and implement sourcing plans to identify, engage, and attract talent.

Under your leadership, the Sourcing team will actively build talent pipeline and leverage external partnerships to enhance Northern Trust's brand recognition with qualified diverse talent pools and develop plans to ensure optimal effectiveness with selected partners and vendors.



  • Leadership - develop and direct a high performing, best in class sourcing team. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.

  • Accountability - responsible for performance and results of the team. Effectively achieve goals through directing work of others. Measure and analyze sourcing and pipeline results, including effectiveness of partnerships and/or resources

  • Solutions oriented - Identifies and solves technical and operational problems; understands and recognizes broader impact across the department. Guided by policy and departmental plan

  • Expertise - Provides guidance to partners, colleagues and/or clients. Provide education on current diversity issues and trends, training, communication and guidance around the diversity recruiting program goals. Leverage industry best practices to develop diversity sourcing strategies to identify, attract, and engage talent to support an organization's hiring needs.

  • Relationship management - Partner with Northern Trust's DEI team to align talent acquisition solutions to enterprise priorities. Establish key relationships with the Business Resource Councils (BRCs) members and develop sourcing and diversity recruiting plans

Qualifications


  • Extensive experience in Talent Acquisition, specifically executive sourcing gained either in-house or at an Executive Search firm, coupled with strong business acumen.
  • Proven experience in building high performance teams.
  • Credibility with executive candidates and leaders: possesses gravitas to lead conversations and influence outcomes.
  • Proven ability to think strategically, translate strategies into actionable plans and use data judgement to measure and analyze results
  • Strong relationship development and management experience; excellent consulting skills; including the ability to build relationships and credibility at all levels within an organization
  • Experience in building relationships with community organizations, professional associations and representing the organization at recruiting events is favorable.
  • Financial services knowledge is a plus but not required.
