Job Overview
The PLC Technician will maintain, modify, and troubleshoot factory control systems from various suppliers to improve and maximize reliability/efficiency. Develop and maintain key systems to ensure we have a sustainable/highly efficient controls group in place. Foster learning within the Engineering department and support training/continuing education.
Responsibilities
Provide troubleshooting and repair of Control systems to minimize production downtime.
Demonstrate proficiency in safe behavior and adherence to all Hostess Brands health and safety policies and procedures.
Execute planned work orders including special projects, improvements, and installations.
Develop and maintain electrical controls documentation.
Work with Engineering Controls Manager to maintain Electrical Engineering Compliance in line with Hostess Standards.
Maintain factory software, including PLC/Device level firmware revisions.
Recommend and initiate cost saving methods for optimal equipment performance.Proactively perform electrical repairs as required and recommend mechanical repairs.
Qualifications
Strong engineering and technical skills including PLC, Electrical and Mechanical skills.
Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley control systems.
Must possess a strong working knowledge of industrial network protocols.
Possess the ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations.
Possess the ability to efficiently use electrical test instrumentation.
Have good communication skills to work with plant personnel and vendors.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities are a must.
Understanding of Continuous improvement methods.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a PLC technician role in an industrial environment or equivalent technical degree.
