Job Overview
The Corporate Paralegal will perform a variety of duties to support the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, and Corporate Counsel.
The ideal candidate will have five or more years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department assisting the chief legal officer and team. To be successful in this role, one must be highly organized and thrive in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
This role will be based out of our corporate office in Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
Negotiate non-disclosure agreements and other standard agreements
Assist with management of trademark portfolio
Respond to subpoenas for records and other document requests
Assist with discovery responses
Assist with insurance renewals
Assist with policy management, updates, and compliance
Establish and maintain relevant corporate files
Perform Clerical duties, as needed
Form, qualify, maintain, and assist in management, withdraw or dissolution of entities
General corporate housekeeping matters, e.g., maintenance of corporate records and minute books
Coordination of annual stockholders' meetings
Assist with other matters as requested by attorneys, including due diligence activities
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
At least 5 years of previous experience as a paralegal
Preferred candidate will have law firm experience as well as in-house experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional organizations skills, individual initiative, and professional demeanor and behavior
Experience with reviewing and negotiating contracts
Basic understanding of trademarks and other intellectual property matters
Familiarity with litigation and administrative processes preferred
A high degree of responsiveness and communication within high-touch organization
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments to manage multiple, conflicting deadlines
Ability to work independently and also collaboratively as part of a team across all levels of the organization
