Job Description:

ERM is seeking an Associate EHS Consultant to join our growing EHS M&C technical team in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will provide project management and senior technical assistance on environmental compliance projects, auditing, management systems, and compliance assurance programs for clients locally, nationally, and internationally. This role will also require strong knowledge in health and safety program review and assurance services.  There may also be support needs in mergers and acquisition/due diligence activities.  This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging environmental management projects for large global clients.


  • Provide technical assistance on health and safety-related compliance projects, safety and process safety management system development and implementation, safety oversight, and safety auditing.

  • Develop safety procedures, plans, permits, and reports.

  • Assess regulatory compliance across various safety and process safety programs.

  • Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Assist clients with facility management of change.

  • Design and implement safety management systems and programs for clients.

  • Conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for safety performance improvement projects.

  • Provide on-site EHS and process safety compliance support at client facilities.

  • Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

  • Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and other Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.

  • Effectively steward and build client relationships leading to repeat business.

  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • BS in safety engineering, occupational health & safety, chemical engineering or related STEM discipline. 

  • 2 to 5 years of health and safety field experience in industrial, technological, construction, or manufacturing environments with demonstrated advancement throughout career.

  • Experience leading health and safety compliance audits, and/or management system conformance audits, is desired.

  • Experience in construction safety or process safety will also be considered, but is not required.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and/or Construction standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide detailed regulatory interpretation of federal and state OSHA regulations.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, MS Office computer, and analytical skills; experienced in writing comprehensive technical reports.

  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Hybrid working, including a combination of remote, in-office, and onsite client work, is required.

  • A valid US driver’s license is required.

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 60% is required. Travel schedules will vary based on client need.

  • Ability to travel for long-term projects is desired.
