The Manager of Brand Product & Experience (BPX) at S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. in Racine, WI is responsible for creating a culture of consumer centric technical storytelling to fuel a robust innovation and claims pipeline through partnering with marketing, market research, RD&E to deliver claims strategies for key brands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Build a strategic view of SCJ's claims and product experience portfolio with respect to key competitors.

  • Identify and deliver new opportunities for business growth through novel claims, better technical/product experience insights.

  • Identify, assess, and execute strategies to close gaps in claims vs. competitive set for a global category.

  • Monitor key competitive activity that could impact category.

  • Strengthen claims and product experience test protocol and substantiation capabilities.

  • Steward a process of ongoing competitive assessments of SCJ products in key markets vs competitive set - in performance, consumer preference and sensory attributes.

  • Strengthen RD&E product experience (product guidance research and sensory) capability to ensure optimum level of product knowledge and claims support.

  • Steward the development of multiple compelling product demonstrations and strengthen SCJ's capability to create and communicate product benefits.

  • And support the Category Technology and CPX leaders in the development of a scientific narrative that can become a foundational "truth" that can be studied and communicated to society in ways that benefit the brand and the overall category business.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:


  • Master's degree in Consumer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 5 years of Research, Development and Engineering (RD&E) experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.

  • Employer will also accept a bachelor's degree in Consumer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 7 years of progressive experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.

  • Experience must include five years of experience in each of the following: (1) combining claims, sensory, consumer science/insights, and qualitative and quantitative product research skills to help bring products to commercial success; (2) SAS, SPSS, landscape segmentation, multivariate statistics, and statistical modeling; (3) marketing and regulatory requirements regarding scientific data required to support consumer goods marketing claims; (4) interfacing with Marketing to drive strategies and results; (5) implementing claims best practices at global CPG or FMCG companies; (6) cross-functional leadership skills; and, (7) using ASTM standards and regulations.

SC Johnson's total compensation packages are at or above industry levels.
