Rotating Scale House Oper/Water Truck Driver Northwest/Peoria/Glendale at Arcosa Inc in Peoria, Arizona

Job Description:

Arcosa Aggregates is hiring for the position of Scale House Clerk/Water Truck Driver.  This position will rotate between our Northern and Peoria locations.  A water truck driver involves driving a truck and spraying water on the sites to maintain dust control.  Some labor duties maybe required.  When filling in as a scale house operator, this person is responsible for helping maintain the day-to-day operations associated with weighing contractor haul trucks. Both positions require a dependable, detail-oriented individual able to maintain a high tempo environment.   Good attendance is imperative.  

Functions/Duties:

• Runs water truck sweeper as needed (will train the right person).  Knowledge of manual shift maybe needed on some equipment.  


• Drive truck equipped with sprinkling attachment to settle dust on roadways & our sites.


• Provide prompt and courteous service to customers.


• Ensure trucks are properly positioned on scale for accurate weights.


• Operate computer to process proper charges to be assigned for each load of material and generate charge ticket on the printer.


• Accurately perform routine data entry into a computer and make accurate basic mathematical calculations.


• Answer scale house telephone and respond to public's questions.


• Ensure that no truck leave the location over its weight limit.


• General cleanliness of scale house.


• Basic Excel and word concepts are required.  


• Perform other related duties as required.  This includes labor type duties.


• Typical work schedule consists of daytime hours Monday through Friday, but may be required to work overtime, early morning shift start times and/or weekends.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized


• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.


• Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.


• Previous scale house experience desired.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Typical work schedule consists of daytime hours Monday through Friday, but may be required to work overtime, early morning shift start times and/or weekends.


• Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time and bend and lift up to 40 pounds.


• Be able to climb into a water truck


• Must be able to pass employment requirements such as a physical, drug screen and background check.


• Work in outdoor/indoor environments that are subject to hot/cold climates.

MSHA training provided
