Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be a growth-oriented professional with the ability to work independently as well as collaborate with multi-disciplined project teams. While executing projects, you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor junior staff and directly support clients.

The successful candidate will have experience with process and utility systems, preferably in the Food & Beverage or Consumer Goods industries, with emphasis on mechanical systems supporting production demands.  You will interface with clients to understand their process, utility and packaging technology design requirements and develop solutions tailored to their application from conceptual design, through detailed engineering and start up.

What You Will Be Doing At Woodard & Curran:


  • Establishing the engineering design basis for projects which may include a variety of complex elements, including understanding existing conditions, performing calculations, and selecting equipment.

  • Conducting site surveys/audits to gather field data; preparing and interpreting drawings.

  • Performing detailed engineering design including preparing project specifications, installation drawing packages, and equipment schedules.

  • Meeting with client representatives, contractors, other engineering design firms, and plant personnel to support project execution.

  • Coordinating other project discipline tasks while working within project scopes, budgets, and schedules.

  • Adhering to QA/QC practices as required to deliver successful projects.

  • This position regularly requires travel to client sites with overnight stays for the duration of the project assignment to support project kickoff events and site audits, engineering design reviews, construction oversight, as well as startup and commissioning efforts.

What You Will Need to Succeed:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Chemical Engineering.

  • 4-8 years’ relevant experience with processing and packaging design for the food and beverage industry, including demonstrated ability to execute projects and meet with client’s representatives, contractors, other engineering design firms, and plant personnel.

  • Professional Engineering Licensure or a willingness to become licensed is preferred.

  • Previous experience will ideally include field assignments to provide construction inspections, startup, and commissioning.

Compensation

Pay:

This position’s anticipated pay range is provided below; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.

Annual Incentive Bonus Opportunity:

Eligible positions may receive an annual cash bonus based on the role’s organizational level, and is represented as a percentage range of eligible earnings** 

Pay Range

$72,397.00 - $108,595.00

  • Vacation time is provided to full and part-time regular employees. Vacation is accrued, based on number of hours worked per week as well as prior years of experience.
