Position Summary:   

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible to evaluate business needs and architect/deliver infrastructure solutions leveraging on-premise and public cloud services.  Additional responsibilities include documentation and automation to create repeatable/efficient solutions, leveraging Infrastructure as Code practices, that are transitioned to the daily operations team for support.  This position will work with IT and business stakeholders, appropriate technology teams, vendors, and CBI leadership to ensure that the services delivered meet the company needs and strategic plans. 

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for IT/business needs or problems.


• Identify areas where IT DevOps Engineering can support IT/business needs and goals.


• Design and implement infrastructure, processes, procedures, and automations for global complex multi-cloud environments


• Gather requirements, provide design, and implement solutions that align with the defined roadmap


• Document designs, processes, projects, tools, standards, and techniques and ensure documentation is maintained and relevant


• Integrate different cloud services with traditional back-end data services.


• Data lifecycle management process by leveraging cloud backup and archiving technologies across a hybrid/multi-cloud.


• Build from the ground up reliable infrastructure service to deliver highly scalable services


• Define best practices and seek inefficient processes to drive orchestration/automation.


• Ensure integrity and stability of the cloud services across the enterprise; define, measure, and drive the achievement of Service Level Agreements.


• Create opportunities to bring DevOps processes to more traditional operating models, driving agility and speed to infrastructure operations


• Direct vendors in the completion of projects and operational support activities


• Monitor and remain abreast of emerging technologies for possible introduction into the organization


• Ensure development and training of the teams on operational practices and service management.


• Manage vendor relationships in all related technologies to deliver services effectively and efficiently.


• Work closely with the Security, Audit, and Cloud Center of Excellence teams to ensure security, compliance, and cloud best practices are followed.

Core Competencies

• The ability to apply a software engineering mindset to system administration topics.


• Minimum 3 year experience working in an Agile environment, preferably Agile Scrum


• Minimum 2-3 years' experience with one or more of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure and GCP)


• Preferred 2-3 years' experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon ECS)


• Minimum 5+ years' experience in one or more of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, Bash.


• Minimum 2-3 years working with CICD pipelines and experience with Ansible and Terraform for software provisioning, configuration management, and application-deployment to enable infrastructure as code


• Minimum 5+ years of wide range of infrastructure technical background i.e. Linux, Windows, Storage, Networking, Databases, and/or backup technologies.


• Minimum 5+ years of technical background with Databases technologies i.e. Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL


• Minimum 2-3 years' experience with a wide range of cloud Database Technology i.e. AURORA (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL (Dynamo DB), Amazon Relation Database Services (RDS), and Microsoft Azure SQL Database.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent


• 5+ years of IT experience with a record of progressive career growth and proven leadership ability


• Broad and deep expertise in complex cloud architecture and cloud technologies


• Deep technical experience and strong command of enterprise IT industry trends and ability to apply those for desired outcomes


• Proven ability to translate business requirements into solutions that map to technology capabilities and integration with existing infrastructure


• Proven track record of implementing significant IT infrastructure projects on schedule and budget


• Knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of major cloud providers (Amazon, Microsoft, and Google).


• Proficiency in automation/orchestration/continuous integration (DevOps)


• In depth understanding of ITIL/ITSM principles in managing operational service delivery


• Demonstrate ability and experience in leading teams on and off shore.


• Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, and advanced problem-solving orientation and decision-making skills. Proven ability to develop, present and justify positions to all levels within the company.


• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment where change is the norm.


• Ability to perform risk assessments

The salary range for this role is:

$121,100.00 - $193,400.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
