The Accounting Manager is a key member of the Corporate Accounting team responsible for accounting for equity and treasury related activities. The position entails project/initiative-based work reflecting the changing business environment and the need to drive process improvements and efficiencies. It therefore requires both a strong grasp of accounting guidance, processes and controls, and an ability to listen to customers' needs and mobilize the team to drive solutions. A successful candidate will have a proven track record managing complex accounting concepts and managing a team of accounting professionals.
The following are the key responsibilities of the role:
Lead and develop a team of two senior accounting analysts
Lead the accounting of equity-related activities, including the 10-Q/10-K related footnote disclosures for:
ASC 718 – Stock-based compensation and associated Income tax impacts in ASC 740
ASC 260 – Earnings per share
ASC 505 – Equity
Forecasting Share count, Stock-based compensation, Equity, and Cash Flows
Manage external valuation process for stock-based compensation
Oversight of accounting for treasury activities (debt, hedging, investments and cash equivalents), including related 10-Q/10-K footnote disclosures and related technical accounting transactions
Project management on renewable energy investments, including:
assessing the proper accounting treatment using consolidation and equity method guidance in ASC 810 and ASC 323, respectively
review of complex accounting models
ongoing quarterly impairment analysis and accounting assessments
Coordination, preparation, and review of monthly and quarterly statement of cash flows and associated commentary
Ownership of 2 SOX processes
Liaison with Treasury, Tax, Controllership, HR, FP&A and Legal to facilitate and support business changes & accounting-related projects
Drive efficiencies and process improvements through automation
Basic Qualifications:
5 or more years of relevant accounting/finance experience
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in applying GAAP to large company situations and an ability to research questions as they arise
Understanding of accounting processes and internal controls, with an ability to identify and address areas of improvement
CPA and/or MBA
Knowledge of Oracle, OneStream, Fidelity, and/or another ERP end-to-end accounting/reporting system
Knowledge and understanding of Long-term incentive (“LTI”) award agreements
Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or related field
2+ years of project management or experience influencing without authority
