Job Description:

General Maintenance Engineer
You are a multi-tasker and are able to work independently, using a wide range of skills to accomplish your duties and support your team. You communicate well with all contacts, anticipate and resolve issues, and update team with your various projects. You perform semiskilled plumbing, maintenance and repair duties throughout the property.

What you will be doing:

  • This team member will require availability to cover AM, PM and Overnight shift assignments.
  • Make repairs to air conditioners - change filters, clean coils, replace blower motors, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Take chiller readings and water samples.
  • Test tower water and record data.
  • Replace TVs and cable boxes. Program channel boxes.
  • Maintain weekly pars of Banquet supplies as well as Coffee crew supplies
  • Replace light switches, receptacles and light bulbs.
  • Perform furniture repairs.
  • Respond to room maintenance calls.
  • Replace pumps.
  • Make wall covering repairs.
  • Perform plumbing repairs - open clogged drains, change FET washers, stems, seats, cartridges, handles drain fittings, etc.
  • Replace lavatories and toilets.
  • Paint designated areas.
  • Repair and finish sheetrock.
  • Repair kitchen equipment.

Your experience and skills include:

  • Trade school or college course work in related field helpful.
  • At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
  • Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, identifying, preventing and solving problems as necessary.
