City Experiences is seeking a Technical Project Coordinator for our Hornblower Shipyard operation in Bridgeport.

About the Opportunity:

This position has responsibility for assisting in the success of new construction, vessel renovation, and development projects through inspections, project documentation control, and support.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a technical Project Coordinator with tracking construction progress, quality, expenses and timelines for construction and repair projects

  • Use project scheduling and control tools to create and monitor projects plans and work hours

  • Report the progress and quality of work being performed by designer and contractors

  • Perform quality control inspections throughout construction

  • Provide vessel surveys with detailed construction reports

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance during design phases and throughout construction

  • Maintain professional relationships with all clients and contractors

  • Attend and examine USCG, ABS, and other regulatory body inspections

  • Be the technical point of contact with contractors, designers, and regulatory bodies

  • Organize and host site meetings and distribute minutes to team members

  • Assist in maintaining Contract Execution Tracking Log, including change orders

  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team

  • Assist in maintaining all project data throughout the lifecycle of the project

  • Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all project closeout documents are obtained and filed

  • Assist the Program manager, as well as Development Management Departments with drafts and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, tenders, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules.

  • Travel to project sites; travel approximately 10% - 90% of time within the US and internationally on an as needed basis

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:


  • Previous shipyard experience required

  • BS in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience is required. An advanced degree is preferred in a technical discipline associated with vessel construction or ship repair such as marine engineering.

  • Certified associate in project management or equivalent certification is preferred

  • Understanding of aluminum vessel design and construction

  • Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, USCG, etc.)

  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills

  • Experience working in a team and operational environment to manage systems

  • Experience with Word, Excel and organizational documentation file management systems

  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to board vessels, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights to complete inspections
